Evenline, Thomas and I drove into Florence the next morning…no traffic! Cindy gave us great advice to park at the Palazzi de Michaelangelo and then walk down into the city. We walked at least a mile down a huge hill with stairs. We got to the center of town just before the heat and all the tourists showed up. A very busy, crowded town in August. The line to the Duomo was at least a mile long so we passed waiting in line in the heat. We strolled the market and paused here and there to look at things then after a while, it all looked the same. We had a good time and took the #13 bus back up the hill to get the car and return home.
Tonight is Eveline’s and Thomas’ last night here so we are going for pasta at the little restaurant near the church in the village. There is outdoor seating and the waiters speak English!
All in all, I have not had a chance to write anything, besides this little blog. Maybe on Saturday I will start as the beginning of my trip so far has been busy and filled with old and new friends! More to come….
