Yes, driving in Italy has sort of been on my bucket list and yesterday I did it. I really drove through part of Florence and all the way up to La Spezia near Cinque Terre! I honked, changed lanes without signaling, and rolled through stop signs, just like any Italian would. I would catch Michele grabbing the car door to brace herself here and there so I slowed down. Michele acted as navigator and with our NeverLost system in the Ford Fiesta (ole!), we traveled quite easily through Livorno and Pisa. We zoomed past the Leaning Tower of Pisa as that entire area is not very pretty to be honest--really dirty. When we finally stopped in La Spezia, we got a gelato at the port and strolled around a bit, looking at the hills filled with homes in all shades of pink and white. I have posted a few photos here but my camera decided to run out of battery.
We have plans to to go back there on Wednesday via car and train so more photos to come!
